Terms of Service
Last updated: July 13, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Zuvlox app and services. By creating an account or using Zuvlox, you agree to them. Please read the sections on savings estimates and automated device control carefully — they describe the limits of what Zuvlox can promise.
1. The service
Zuvlox analyzes your electricity usage data, estimates your cost under the rate plans available from your utility, calculates how much load you would need to shift for a time-of-use plan to be worthwhile, and — if you enable it — automatically schedules your connected smart devices to shift energy use into cheaper hours.
Zuvlox is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Puget Sound Energy or any other utility, or by Tesla, Google, Samsung, or any device manufacturer. Product names are the trademarks of their respective owners.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for your account and for the accuracy of the information you provide, including your utility account credentials. Sign-in is provided through Google or Apple; keep those accounts secure.
3. Your utility account
To retrieve your usage data, you may give Zuvlox your utility account credentials. By doing so, you represent that the utility account is yours (or that you are authorized to act for the account holder) and you authorize Zuvlox to sign in to that account on your behalf and download your own usage and billing data. We use those credentials for no other purpose. Your utility may have its own terms about account access; you remain responsible for complying with them.
You can disconnect your utility account at any time, and you may instead upload usage files exported from your utility if you prefer not to store credentials.
4. Savings estimates are estimates
Zuvlox computes cost and savings figures from your actual meter data and published tariff rates, and we work hard to make them accurate. Even so:
- Figures shown in the app, on this website, or in marketing materials are estimates and projections, not guarantees. Your actual bill is determined solely by your utility.
- Results depend on your consumption, your devices, your rate plan, your behavior, and tariff rates that your utility can change at any time.
- Any example figures we publish reflect a specific measured household and are not a promise of your results.
Decisions about your rate plan and program enrollment are yours. Zuvlox provides analysis; it does not enroll you in a rate plan, and we are not responsible for the consequences of an enrollment decision, including any utility rule that removes you from a plan or program.
5. Automated device control
If you enable automation, you authorize Zuvlox to send control commands to the devices you connect — for example, to schedule EV charging, adjust thermostat setpoints within the comfort range you set, or defer an appliance cycle.
- Automation is opt-in, per device, and you can pause or turn it off at any time.
- Your manual action always takes priority. If you operate a device yourself, Zuvlox detects this and yields automated control of that device.
- Zuvlox verifies each command against the device's own telemetry, but we cannot guarantee that a command will be delivered or executed. Devices sleep, lose connectivity, change firmware behavior, or are changed by the manufacturer's API. Third-party platforms may go down, rate-limit us, or change without notice.
- Do not rely on Zuvlox for anything safety-critical, medically necessary, or otherwise essential — including heating or cooling required for health, or charging your vehicle by a specific deadline. Always keep an independent means of controlling your devices, and set your comfort range and charging settings conservatively.
6. Subscriptions and payment
Zuvlox offers a free tier and a paid subscription. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and unless required by law we do not provide refunds for a partial period. Prices and features may change on notice; changes will not affect the period you have already paid for.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use Zuvlox with an account or device you are not authorized to access; attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure; scrape, resell, or redistribute the service or its data; reverse engineer the service except where that right cannot be restricted by law; or use the service unlawfully.
8. Intellectual property
Zuvlox and its software, design, and content are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws, including pending patent applications. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. Your data remains yours.
9. Third-party services
Zuvlox interoperates with your utility and with device platforms you choose to connect. Those services are controlled by third parties under their own terms, and they may change, degrade, or discontinue access at any time. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their unavailability may limit or interrupt what Zuvlox can do.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce any particular savings.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zuvlox will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost savings, lost profits, higher utility bills, loss of comfort, spoiled goods, appliance or vehicle issues, or loss of data, arising out of or relating to the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Zuvlox harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third party's rights — including a utility's or device platform's terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using Zuvlox and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the service. On termination, your right to use the service ends; the sections that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) will survive.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If changes are material, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The courts located in King County, Washington will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
